Pat Kockelkorn

After her studies, Pat Kockelkorn and two other women started an offset printing house.

Passionately interested in other cultures, she travelled through China, Tibet, India, and Nepal where she also worked for several years.

It was during her travels that she became interested in photography, using the camera to capture her impressions.

The main focus of her work was and remains portraits of people.

Once back in the Netherlands she began to study photography at the Gerrit Rietveld academy in Amsterdam.

While studying, she worked in a shelter for women and children.

In 1998 she finished her degree and started her work as a professional photographer for magazines, schoolbooks, and other projects.

Pat especially loves pinhole photography. A pinhole camera is simply a dark box with a pin prick for a lens. It uses no mechanical parts. The pinhole camera has a magical way of capturing light and creating something brand new out of the images we see every day.

At this moment she is working at a project about awakening.
